Complex Sentences and Compound/Complex Sentences.

Make sure you refer to your notes on Dependent and Independent Clauses. Remember a Complex Sentence contains one Independent Clause and one Dependent Clause.

A Compound/Complex Sentence contains two Independent Clauses and at least one Dependent Clause.

When you write your 3 Compound/Complex Sentences, use the book ROTHMC and put the page number where you found the sentence. You do not need to look in any one particular chapter. An example can be found on page 20 in Chapter 1 of Roll of Thunder, Hear My Cry;
 "Mama glanced at the book I had rejected and she opened the front cover so that the offensive pages of both books faced her."

If you cannot find sentences, then make up your own.

Mrs. Jaggers gave us homework tonight and she told us to do our best, so we'd do well on a test.

We studied very hard for the test while we were after school and we made flashcards to help us.
