Finish Long Composition

We learned about Langston Hughes this week and wrote an open response about how he use his writing throughout his lifetime. Yesterday, we began writing a long composition about our hero and the qualities that make this person our hero. We have been using a TORSO as a graphic organizer. We began writing our rough draft in class today. Our homework is to complete the rough draft over the weekend. We will work on word choice next week.

What Would You Do?

We read some interesting situations today and tried to put ourselves in a similar position. What would you do if your friend told a secret you swore him/her not to tell? What about if a friend of yours always gets A's and doesn't have to study? You study hard and receive only B's. How can you overcome a feeling of jealousy?
These are just a few of the scenarios presented in ELA today. Tomorrow we will find out how you would react.
Don't forget to study your "Brain Dump" tonight.
