Hope you had a great weekend. Quarter notes for chapter 4 are due tomorrow and chapter 5 are due Wednesday, September 15th. Are you doing all your work? Try the games on the figurative langauge link. They just might help you learn what we worked on in class last Friday.

Homework for the Weekend.

Since we did not have homework last evening, please remember to use the weekend to study for your vocabulary test. Be sure you study the definitions, the spellings and the part of speech. I am tentatively scheduling the test for Monday, September 13th. If we do not complete our chapter 3 quarter notes and figurative language lesson, we might have the test on Tuesday, September 14th. Either way, study is essential.

Please read chapter 4 and complete quarter notes for Tuesday, September 14th.

Please be prepared to answer your study guide questions on the back of the vocabulary list.

Are you artistic? Perhaps you would like to draw a picture of one of the four teenagers; Ray, July, Helen or Barry. More details to follow.

Questions for Chapter 2

In some classes we discussed the questions for chapter 2 of "I Know What You Did Last Summer" while in others we worked in groups and answered them together. We wil construct a set of quarter notes for chapter 2 and you will complete your own set of notes for chapter 3. Are you getting a clear picture of the characters and what they look like? We'll have a contest next week. Anybody artistic?

Test Today, September 7, 2010

Today we passed in our books "Small Steps" and took our test. We talked about the importance of using graphic organizers.

Definitions Due Tomorrow

We went over new vocabulary today to define for tomorrow. Chapters 1-3 are due on Tuesday, September 7th. We'll begin I Know What You Did Last Summer by Lois Duncan tomorrow.


Reading/Writing will continue working on the Vietnam War.

It Was a Pleasure to Meet You

We had a great day today. We learned a great deal of information BUT we got acquainted and made a nice transition to the 7th grade. Let's think of some clever names for our team related to the theme of Astronomy. Please remind me to talk about it in homeroom tomorrow. Don't forget Emergency Forms, Questionnaires and Expectation Sheets. Your parents have the homework!

Reading/Writing is learning about the Vietnam War. Maybe your grandparents or great aunts or great uncles served in the Army, Navy, Marines or Air Force. Would theytalk to us about it?
