You did a great job organizing your materials. I am very proud of you.
Here is just an imaginary poem that might help you to improve your own!
Bio Po
Ralphie
Couageous, caring, casual, and supportive (alliteration)
Resident of a house as small as a peanut shell (simile)
Lover of freedom-loving feet that roam the prairie
Who feels incredible loneliness when sitting in the black abyss he calls his bedroom (metaphor)
Who finds happiness in books about adventure that beg to be read (personification)
Who needs to explore the magical world of books every hour of the day (hyperbole)
Who gives love and support to his friend, Marvin
Who fears spiders and crawly insects
Who would like to overcome his shyness around new friends
Who enjoys swimming in his wonderful world of words
Who excels at playing the violin
Believer in being the best he can be
Who is motivated by seeing his parents smile

Copy New Vocabulary Into Vocabulary Notebook.
Check the words and definitions and parts of speech on Quizlet for Chapters 4 and 5. Copy only those 18 words, definitions and parts of speech into your vocabulary notebook. We'll tackle the rest next week.
Remember we talked about the figurative language on the SMART board today. What would the simile "...Mr. Morrison clearly , moving silently, like a jungle cat...." look like?
What would the personification, "The moon slid from its dark covers..." look like?
OR what would the metaphor, "....the vision of ghostly headlights" look like?
Let's create a rubric together for this assignment. Type the example of figurative language and how do we illustrate it? Let's talk tomorrow.
Test next Monday, January 28th. Make sure you are familiar with all the characters (you have a character sheet). Know the most important events from Chapters 1-4. We'll hopefully be done Chapter 4 by then.
Make sure you know your subject, object, possessive and reflexive pronouns.
